ST. Anthony Wreck &
Molokini:
For more
information on Maui Scuba Diving visit Maui Dive Shop
In 1997, the St. Anthony, a 65 Foot
longliner fishing boat, was sunk off Mokapu Beach in Wailea, to a depth
of 60-70 feet to become part of Maui's only official artificial reef.
Along with the deposit of hundreds of concrete weighted tires in which
the marine animals have taken up residence, the area has become home to
over 50 species of fish.
A number of Green Sea Turtles who pose as "pirates" on the wreckage,
also call the St. Anthony their home. The Wreck itself has been gutted
to allow adventurous divers to enter the boat and explore the site from
the inside out.

Lanai Cathedrals 2 Tank Dives:
For more information on
Maui Scuba Diving visit Maui Dive Shop
On this trip, we cross the channel to the island of Lanai, whose underwater features include the dive site known worldwide as the
Cathedrals. The Cathedrals and more than 20 other dive sites at Lanai, offer
opportunities to enjoy the unique formations made when molten lava cools in the Pacific Ocean. Tubes, caverns, ledges and walls of lava make
excellent backdrops for underwater photography and magnificent mazes for exploration. Reticulated butterfly fish, Gold rim surgeon fish and
Flame angelfish are just a few varieties of the rare fish seen in Lanai's waters. Turtles are found on many dive sites around Lanai and Plankton
rich waters frequently attract Manta rays. As a bonus, it is not uncommon to be escorted to and from the dive sites by spinner dolphins riding
the bow wave. In season, roughly from the end of December to the end of April, this trip offers an excellent opportunity to see Humpback whales.

Manta Ray & Molokini 2 Tank Dives:

Our first destination is the world
famous Molokini Crater, a marine reserve below water and bird
sanctuary above. The visibility on this reef system averages 100+

is one of the few places in the world where you can see Hawaiian

eels are also sighted. Harlequin shrimp take residence around coral
heads and Triton's trumpets and nudibranchs are found nestled in
crevices.
Our second destination is a reef nestled in the protected bays at
the base of the majestic West Maui Mountains. This area is rich in
coral gardens which provide a canopy of hard coral with nooks and
crannies that draw a spectacular array of marine life.
The highlight of the dive will be our visit to a Manta Ray cleaning
station where Mantas like to gather. The wing span of the near-shore
Pacific Manta Ray averages 5 to 8 feet but can reach well over 14
feet. The mantas have no teeth, no stinger, and a harmless
disposition. Their only defense is to flee.
This dive will also provide an opportunity to see Hawaiian garden
eels, masked angelfish, long-nose hawk fish and many more fish
endemic to the Hawaiian Islands. Harlequin shrimp take residence
around coral heads and triton's trumpets and nudibranchs are found
nestled in crevices.
Between the end of December and the end of April this trip affords a
great opportunity to see humpback whales in the waters surrounding
Maui which is a National Marine Sanctuary for these endangered
whales.
