SUGAR CANE TRAIN RIDE ROUND TRIP: Relax in an open-air coach whose nostalgic charm recalls the days of old Hawaii.

With a blast of its steam whistle, the locomotive chugs along a six-mile stretch of track at a leisurely pace. During your train ride, you’ll cross a 325-foot curved wooden trestle whose elevation yields spectacular views of neighboring islands and the West Maui Mountains. From December to April, it is a common sight to spot humpback whales frolicking in the warm Pacific waters. The Train: "The Sugar Cane Train" is a 200-passenger locomotive that has operated passenger service from Lahaina to Puukolii (just north of Kaanapali) daily for nearly 30 years. Since 1970, over five million visitors to Maui have ridden the train making it one of West Maui's most popular attractions.


 

GROWN ON MAUI BUS TOUR: For the first time ever, A Grown on Maui Bus Tour is offered to get an "up close and personal" experience of Maui's agriculture by visiting the farms.

This tour will start at the Whole Foods Market where each guest will be taken on an exclusive “behind the scenes” tour to teach you how to shop on a budget by knowing the layout of the store. Delicious samples are offered throughout the tour, and a continental breakfast of locally sources fruits, coffee and breads are provided.
Once you’ve satisfied your appetite the tour will continue to the Hali’imaile Pineapple Company, where the staff shares a brief history of growing pineapple on Maui and how their farming operations has evolved today. See how pineapple is grown and learn the interesting facts about choosing the sweetest pineapple in the supermarket.
Then it’s off to lunch at the O’o farm, where a plethora of different crops are grown. Providing a unique culinary experience of using the freshest farm ingredients, prepared in creative ways that bring forth all the delicious flavors nature has to offer.
After lunch, its on to Ali’i Kula Lavender Farm, where the tour starts on a sweet note of creamy Lavender Chocolate Gelato. Take the first and only Lavender walking tour and discover the “Language of Flowers”. Buy a Lavender Scone for the road and find out why these scones are so famous!
This one-of-a-kind tour will return to Whole Foods Market where you can shop before returning to your car!

The tours are led by Maui Pineapple Company workers whose colorful commentary weaves history, facts and trivia into an authentic pineapple plantation experience.
Ride in the luxurious Maui Gold® shuttle van from check in to the coast to fields being planted and/or harvested.
Learn first-hand about the unique growing cycle, planting and harvesting techniques of pineapple, the symbol of hospitality.
In the field, walk through rows of fresh pineapple, tasting samples and receiving a perfect specimen of sweet Maui Gold® to take home as a souvenir.

Check in 15 minutes prior to tour departure and park near Haliimaile General Restaurant, 900 Haliimaile Road.

Guests will enjoy a guided tour through working Maui Gold Pineapple fields centrally located in Maui. The tour will continue with a look at the unique packing and shipping factory. Many will discover the history and fascinating facts about pineapple in Hawaii by our knowledgeable guide. Guests will sample pineapples of varying stages right from the fields. Everyone receives a free pineapple. 1 pineapple per person and box are included. Guests will be greeted with fresh pineapple lemonade and presented with a choice of freshly prepared entrée’s at the Haliimaile Restaurant to compliment the farm tour and agricultural component this tour provides.
