Departure from our shop approximately 2 hours before sunrise.
Transportation up to Haleakala Summit, view crater, guided van tour (1-1 1/2 hours) of the park. Stage at 6500 feet, just outside park entrance. We furnish Gary Fisher mountain bike, helmet backpack, rain/wind gear, gloves and map with points of interest.
Self guided bike ride down the mountain back to store in Haiku by 3:00pm.
Transportation from your hotel to our shop for our Sunrise Special bike ride can be provided for and extra $20 a person. We will pick you up at your hotel approximately 2 hours before our scheduled departure time. You then you'll be treated to an island tour as we shuttle you and other passengers from West, South or Central Maui to our location in beautiful Haiku, located on the north shore of the island.
Customers that choose to BE PICKED UP will have the convenience of not having to deal with drive times and directions. Although the bike ride is self-paced, the designated return time to our shop will be 11:00am in order to return you to your hotel. If you miss this departure time, public transportation is available provided by the county every hour and a half starting at 12:15pm.
Customers that choose to DRIVE TO OUR LOCATION in Haiku will have the extended freedom to bike down and not have to be back to our shop until 4:00pm, our closing time. You will also have the convenience of your own car, allowing you to further explore this side of Maui right after your bike trip.

SUMMIT DELUXE includes: bike helmet, rain/wind gear, and backpack. A narrated tour of Haleakala Nation Park, which includes the summit, crater, and visitor center. We stage at 6500', you are self guided back down to the store. It is your day on the mountain, remember have fun.
After your summit experience, we do a van tour of the park and put you on the bikes at the park entrance. What lies before you is Maui's famous downhill. You drop 3,000' in 10 miles and curve around 29 switch backs. Stop often and enjoy the incredible vistas of west Maui surrounded by the Pacific. Below 4,000' you come to "upcountry Maui". Vegetable truck farms, protea farms, lodges, galleries and Kula botanical gardens. You have the option of expanding your day and including Keokea, the Chinese community, Tedeschi Winery and the Enchanted Gardens. Further down the mountain is Makawao town- Paniolo (cowboy) country. Boutiques, shops, and wonderful places to eat where you can stop and enjoy a leisurely meal.

Our Haleakala Express Tours departs the base store at 9am. What makes this trip more affordable is that we don't include the two hour Haleakala National Park van tour that we do in our Sunrise And Summit tours. Otherwise the bike ride and equipment stay the same. If your focus is just a great bike ride down the volcano and you won't miss the crater tour or sunrise, then this is the trip for you. As with our other tours, there's no time limit, no timetable, no lines to keep. You go as fast or slow as YOU like.

This tour is a great tour if you want to bike down Haleakala at your own Pace!
This self guided tour is longer than any other unguided tour on the island!
Tour includes a van tour of the National Park along with 28 miles of biking at your own comfortable pace. Following your tour of the House of the Sun Visitor Center and Haleakala Visitor Center, you will bike from 6,500 feet elevation and end at the Pacific Ocean at Paia Bay Park.

Clients meet our tour guides at Starbucks Coffee in the Maui Market Place (Kahului) at 7:00 a.m. Transportation to the summit, a continental breakfast (coffee & pastries) served enroute to the summit, Volcano Chrome Cruiser bikes, helmet, Columbia Sportswear windbreaker pants and jacket, gloves and backpacks are provided. Upon completion of your bike ride, shuttle service back to Starbucks Coffee will be provided. Departure times from Paia Beach Park are 1:30pm, 2:00pm, and 2:30pm.

The Sunrise Journey is our most popular bicycle tour.
Your tour begins with hotel pick-up and van tour to the Summit of Haleakala. Our certified tour guides provide you with a history of Haleakala, its geology and an explanation of rare plants and animals only found on Maui. Upon arrival at the summit, you will be escorted by your mountain guides to the rim of the crater where you will view the spectacular sunrise. Your tour then proceeds to the 6,500 foot level of Haleakala where you will receive a comprehensive safety briefing and begin your 28-mile bike ride down the slopes of Haleakala - the world's largest dormant volcano. your journey proceeds through Haleakala Ranch, the upcountry communities of Kula, stopping at Sunrise Market Protea and Flower Farm for a no-host breakfast and tour of the flower farm. The ride ride continues through Pukalani and Makawao riding through sugar can and pineapple fields, continuing down to the Pacific Ocean and ending at Paia Bay Beach park.
